Brianna Sacks, Anchorage Daily News, 17 July 2023 Inside the red zone is Poland’s dense Białowieża Forest, known for its swamps, wolf packs, and desperate migrants trapped in political limbo. 2023 Florida’s historic, unrelenting heat dome has made this limbo even more difficult, compounding their exhaustion. 2023 Meanwhile, fall film festivals, whose main mission is to showcase new films and talent, often with the fanfare of many red-carpet premieres, were left in chaotic limbo. Charles McNulty, Los Angeles Times, 26 Sep. Latin limbo, ablative form of limbus, border taken from "in limbo patrum", a phrase used by the Church Fathers.Noun Ogie lives beyond traditional definitions, but the limbo of his condition imposes severe limitations. At stake in the traditional belief in limbo is the revealed doctrine that heaven is a sheer gift of divine goodness and that baptism of water or desire is necessary to enter heaven. Pope Pius XII declared that "an act of love can suffice for an adult to acquire sanctifying grace and supply for the lack of baptism to the unborn or newly born infant this way is not open" (Acta Apostolicae Sedis, XLIII, 84). They were condemned by Pope Pius VI as teaching something "false, rash and injurious to Catholic education," because they claimed that it was a Pelagian fable to hold that there is a place "which the faithful generally designate by the name of limbo of children," for the souls of those who depart this life with the sole guilt of original sin (Denzinger 2626). Among others who denied the existence of limbo were the Jansenists, whose theory of selective predestination excluded the need for any mediatorial source of grace, including baptism. On their premises there is no need of such a place. Those who either deny that heaven is a supernatural destiny to which no creature has a natural claim, or who deny that original sin deprives a person of a right to heaven logically also deny the very possibility of limbo. The Church has never defined the existence of limbo, although she has more than once supported the fact by her authority. It is believed that infants in limbo know and love God intensely by the use of their natural powers, and the enjoy full natural happiness. Rather, "They rejoice because they share in God's goodness and in many natural perfections" (De Malo, V, 3). Thomas Aquinas answers that they do not, because pain of punishment is proportioned to personal guilt, which does not exist here. The great majority of theologians, approved by the Church, teach that infants who die in original sin suffer no "pain of sense." They are simply excluded from the beatific vision. Pius V had the passage removed from Cajetan's works. Cardinal Cajetan (1469-1534) espoused the same theory, but Pope St. Bernard suggested that such infants could reach heaven because of the faith of their parents (De Baptismo I, 4 II, 1). Some theologians of renown have thought that God might supply the want of baptism by some other means. After defining justification as "a passing from the state in which man is born of the first Adam, to the state of grace and adoption as sons of God," Trent declared, "Since the Gospel was promulgated, this passing cannot take place without the water of regeneration or the desire for it, as it is written, 'Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God' (John 3:5)" (Denzinger 1524). This is the teaching of the ecumenical councils of Florence and Trent. Regarding the limbo of infants, it is an article of the Catholic faith that those who die without baptism, and for whom the act of baptism has not been supplied in some other way, cannot enter heaven. The limbo of infants (limbus infantium) is the permanent state of those who die in original sin but are innocent of any personal guilt. The limbo of the Fathers (limbus patrum) was the place where the saints of the Old Testament remained until Christ's coming and redemption of the world. They enjoy the happiness that would have been human destiny if humans had not been elevated to the supernatural order.Ĭatholic theology distinguishes two kinds of limbo. The abode of souls excluded from the full blessedness of the beatific vision, but not suffering any other punishment. John Hardon's Modern Catholic Dictionary, © Eternal Life. 1/21/2024 0 Comments Max headroom incident animated gifIt's possible that "Max" himself was neither a tech expert nor an employee/former employee with WGN, WTTW, or any other station.Either that or, if it wasn't an inside job, they had to be hackers with extensive knowledge and almost unattainable equipment capabilities for private individuals at the time, as we found out during the K and J era of this investigation. I think it's quite likely they were employees of WTTW but disgruntled former employees of WGN. This has always implied to me that it almost certainly had to be an inside job, so the hackers had to be employees (current in 1987 or former by 1987) of a tv station in Chicago. Their tech had to be just strong enough to bump WGN's signal for a short period without being able to break in with audio, and then strong enough to fully break into the WTTW broadcast for however long they wanted with full audio. They had to have equipment that was both powerful enough and close enough to the broadcast towers of the stations they hacked in order to be able to hack them. He's willing to commit a federal crime, show his ass, show a sex toy, and get spanked on tv, but he won't swear? Very curious. He uses the word "freakin" twice instead of "fucking" and never even comes close to cursing in any other capacity at all. Although "Max" was willing to show us his bare ass, a dildo, and some spanking, he was oddly reticent to swear. The video was pre recorded, not performed live, given the jump cut towards the end which would be impossible otherwise.Of course, it's also possible that he was born later and only became familiar with Clutch Cargo via reruns. This would put his approximate age in 1987, at the time of the hacking, at around 30 to 35. This suggests he was probably born in the mid to late 50s since "Clutch Cargo" was a popular kids show in the early to mid 60s. "Max" was a fan of Clutch Cargo, given that he could both hum the theme song and name the title of the final episode I Still See the X.NOTE: For the sake of convenience, let's refer to the guy in the Max Headroom mask as "Max", the girl in the maid costume with the fly swatter as "Maid", and the cameraman as "Cameraman". 1/21/2024 0 Comments Nutribullet costcoSimple as that. 1/21/2024 0 Comments Lightsaber colors and charactersFull RGB-style lightsaber color tweaking. In the latter series, the weapon is a major plot point in the relationship between the titular Mandalorian Din Djarin and Bo Katan. The weapon took on a mythological importance in Mandalorian culture, as seen in its appearances on Star Wars Rebels and The Mandalorian. The black-bladed Darksaber is a unique lightsaber-like weapon that, in Star Wars canon, was created thousands of years before the film series by Tarre Vizsla, the first Mandalorian Jedi. Thought to represent purity and peace, the color is wielded by Corran Horn. While silver lightsabers aren’t technically currently a part of Star Wars canon, they are a part of the former expanded universe canon, now referred to as Legends. The best known wielder of a yellow saber is arguably Rey, whose saber debuts at the end of Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. Over the course of the series, the color is mainly used by Jedi Temple guards – who wield double-bladed yellow lightsaber pikes – and Asajj Ventress. Yellow lightsabers are relatively rare in the Star Wars universe, as the color represents the power of the sun, hope, and goodness. The red hue influence represents that desire for power that the Sith covet, and Jedi must find balance with. But in the lore of Star Wars, purple is that color that the Jedi yield that closely borders that edge to the Sith side. Jackson specifically requested the purple saber color as a way for his character to stand out from the pack during battle scenes. Allegedly, behind the scenes, Windu actor Samuel L. The purple lightsaber blade wielded only by Jedi Master Mace Windu during the prequel era represents nobility, royalty, and wisdom. In addition to Vader, other antagonists, including Count Dooku, Darth Maul, Kylo Ren, and even Emperor Palpatine himself, wield red-bladed lightsabers. The red saber represents anger, strength, and determination, which perfectly fits the attitude of Anakin Skywalker after his fall to the dark side. Red lightsabers have been almost exclusively associated with evil and the Sith from the beginning of the Star Wars saga, as the first was seen wielded by Darth Vader himself in the first film. In addition to Luke, green is seen to be wielded by numerous Jedis throughout the prequel saga, notably including Qui-Gon Jin and even Jedi Master Yoda himself. The new color serves as a replacement for Luke’s father’s saber, which the younger Skywalker lost along with his hand in Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. Green lightsaber balls represent growth, harmony, and nature, which fits perfectly with the color’s first appearance as Luke Skywalker’s newly constructed saber in Episode VI: The Return of the Jedi. According to the saga’s lore, the blue glands indicate justice, truth, and serenity. Kenobi himself also wields a blue saber, as do numerous other Jedi characters who appear in the prequel and sequel series. However, even some of the most hardcore Star Wars fans aren’t aware that lightsaber blade colors as very specifically tied to their wielder as within Star Wars canon “pure kyber (The crystal at the heart of every lightsaber) has no color until it’s bonded to the Force user.” So, what qualities do the numerous lightsaber blade colors represent? Let’s find out: Blueīlue is arguably the most famous lightsaber color, as it’s the first one audiences see in the saga when Obi-Wan Kenobi gifts Luke Skywalker, the latter’s father Anakin’s (prior to his Darth Vader days) blue-bladed saber early on in the first Star Wars film, A New Hope. These graceful blades - famously referred to by Obi-Wan Kenobi as “an elegant weapon for a more civilized age” - are wielded in various colors by both the heroic Jedi and the evil Sith across the saga, and have become some of the most sought after real-world souvenirs at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. - Close Your Eyes and Blink Yourself to WDWĮvery Lightsaber Color and Their MeaningsĮven the most casual of Star Wars fans is familiar with lightsabers. 1/21/2024 0 Comments Notetaker bibleThe Spiral Bible also just released their first large print Bible – the KJV Large Print Gospels in 16 point font. In November 2013, she was assigned to Tailor Shop 1 where she remained until the day of the escape. The IG report noted that Mitchell began working at Dannemora in 2008 as an Industrial Training Supervisor. "This is what we've been looking for, which is the actual sort of source material," Stiller told The Watch podcast. His feeling changed after the report was released. Stiller said prior to the report, he rejected the idea of the seven-part series, because there were not enough information on the escape. Released in June 2016, the report, from Inspector General Catherine Leahy Scott, was used as the source material for the miniseries. However, t he state Attorney General details many of the incidents depicted in the Showtime series in a 154-page report. Mitchell told the Post that it was "impossible" she was able to have sex in the tailor shop. At one point, they were seemingly thwarted by an 18-inch steam pipe, but since it had been turned off for the summer, Sweat was able to saw through it in two places, giving the prisoners a path to freedom. But in the show, Patricia Arquette who plays Mitchell, is depicted having regular sex with Sweat and Matt in the prison tailor shop, which she managed. Matt and Sweat then used those blades to cut holes around vent grates in their prison cells and crawl through the prison's ventilation system, mapping out their escape. Joyce Mitchell really did smuggle hacksaw blades purchased at Walmart into the prison in blocks of frozen hamburger meat as depicted in the series. He promises her that the three of them will run away together, away from her boring life with her husband Lyle, and eventually make their way to Mexico. Matt, sensitive to the fact that Tilly appears to be deeply enamored with Sweat, manipulates her into bringing the two men supplies to break out of the prison. Inmates David Sweat (played by Paul Dano) and Richard Matt (Benecio Del Toro) each begin a sexual relationship with an inmate supervisor named Joyce "Tilly" Mitchell (Patricia Arquette). The series follows a 2015 prison break from Clinton Correctional Facility, the first in the compound's 170-year history. The series is artfully directed by Stiller himself, and pretty addictive, so viewers may be wondering: how many episodes is Escape at Dannemora? The incredible story plays out across just seven episodes. Showtime's latest miniseries Escape at Dannemora has all the makings of an awards season darling: an all-star cast, a high profile producer in Ben Stiller, and a riveting true crime backdrop. |
